Magazine Analysis


Me and my media partner Jacob looked at a music magazine and done a TAPE analysis of it.

Photos for Nature Magazine

 

 

 

To start off my course work, I went out and took photo's of things to do with nature for a task of creating the front cover of a nature magazine. After I had taken a few photo's, I then up loaded them onto a computer so I could play around with the images on photo shop and find out how to use photo shop.
As you can see, I used a large tree and some blackberries which were two separate images which I combined together to make one by using the 'magnetic lasso tool'. I then adjusted the colour and light contrast of the images to give it more detail and to see how it works. After that, I added some text at the top in green to make it stand out from the dark tree. 'Beautiful Growth' is the name of the magazine. I then placed a slogan in yellow to help grape people's attention.
Overall, I am quiet pleased with what I achieved and I look forward to playing around with photo shop more often.

The Brief

Preliminary Task:
To produce a front cover page of a new school magazine featuring a photo of a student. Text must be used to feature stories within the magazine and must be placed on the left third. The heading of the magazine must stand out and be placed at the top of the page with the text contrasting to the colours of the picture being used.

Main Task:
Design and make the front page, content and double page spread of a new music magazine that features a new band/ singer.
